GCIRCUIT: THE BEST PARTY OF YOUR LIFE

SK11 - Songkran

Spring in Thailand means a time for new beginnings, a time to wash away the past year and celebrate. Spring is time for Songkran, Thailand’s new year’s festival, but it’s also time again for the biggest gay dance festival in Asia, gCircuit’s Super Songkran!

Take a look at what the organizers have planned for this year’s events.

Last year’s event, SK10, attracted more than 1,000 partygoers from the United States alone; needless to say the response from the US LGBT community has been overwhelmingly positive.

GCircuit consists of 3 nights, and each night presents a different theme and a different DJ. With over 8,000 people from both local and international each night, it’s the perfect place to party the night away! Word sure has spread fast among partygoers from the US, and SK 11 is shaping up to be even bigger and better than ever.

GCircuit Super Songkran 11, scheduled to happen between April 14-16, 2017, will take place at the Centara Grand Bangkok Convention Center. It’s a much bigger venue than previously, and it features a new pool venue, as well as increased the size of the VIP area. GCircuit will be organizing both its Bear and Boy Pool Parties at U Sathorn Bangkok Hotel this year.

Speaking from my experience, SK 11 will be the place you’ll want to be. From what I heard, it will be a much bigger production, stunning lighting, army of sexy gogos. Just think about it, I want to book the ticket already! It’s just like yesterday when I attended SK10.

Last year, it was held at Central World, kicked off with a bang during the weekend’s Opening Party. SK 10 was an exciting mix of local partygoers and international travelers, and the festivities continued through three nights of amazing dance events. Let me tell you, you won’t be able to stand still once you are there. Each night, there will be at least 5 DJs from around the world spinning. A mixture of great looking dancers from many countries that could make your jaw drop. Needless to say, Bangkok during that time can’t be any more international than that.

The Opening Party kicked things off on a Friday night, followed on Saturday with the Main Party and closing out Sunday night with the Closing Party. Most parties started around 7PM and ended around 2AM-ish. But if that wasn’t enough, there were also afternoon pool parties on both Saturday and Sunday.

With two parties to choose from, the Boys Pool Party and the Bear Pool Party, there was an option for everyone. You could choose which one to head to, as each attracted its own type of crowd, but honestly, both were so much fun! No words can describe it. But you just have to plan ahead and buy the ticket in advance before they sold out. Go and see it for yourself. What I am going to say is, if you want to chill and check the boys or the bears out in the broad day light, it is the time!

It was easy to keep the fun up all night with all the energy surrounding the events. At the actual SK10 venue, the main dance hall was certainly the place to be, with great house music and gorgeous looking boys/men for you to mingle with. You could easily stay there all night and get your dance fill, but there were also more intimate halls sporting a variety of music for a change of scene. In addition to all your fellow partygoers, sexy costumed dancers roam the halls throughout the night. Their magnificent costumes depended on the theme of the night, but for sure their irresistible dance moves kept everyone company till dawn.

The event was truly an international one. The main hall was flooded with men speaking every language, from Vietnamese and Chinese to Portuguese, German, Spanish, and English. The turnout was amazing! It was definitely fun to get lost in the accents, and not to mention, admire the pretty faces each night.

In addition to the fun atmosphere, everything was really organized very well. The organizers thought of everything. Working with various local hotels, they were able to offer special rates for the GCircuit dance festival partygoers. This was great, as people who planned ahead were able to book hotels literally right next to the venue. With so many parties and events happening and meeting so many new people, it was invaluable to be able to go to an event, return to the hotel as much as you needed to, and head right back out again.

SK10 - Songkran

Let me assure you, the Songkran GCircuit weekend will be one busy weekend in Bangkok. The city will be packed with foreigners getting their shopping in (we all know Bangkok markets have everything you need for a fraction of the price) and fueled by the amazing street food. But SongKran 11 is the place to be. Dancing, fun, variety, and more dancing; with participants from easily over 10 countries you’ll certainly have a great time exploring all the event has to offer with your new friends or even old ones. You don’t want to miss SK 11, so get your gear up and be ready for this gigantic GCircuit event in April 2017
